Henley-on-thames….

Moira Schneider

One of my aims on this trip was to have some quality time with Tony’s dear old Aunt…….as dear Val hasn’t been out to the countryside for almost 3yrs due to the Covid along with her having a number of surgeries….we headed out for a wonderful garden nursery that also sells anything else you can think of….we had coffee then drove on down to Henley-on-Thames……we had hoped to have lunch at a little pub on the Thames called ‘The Angel’……we arrived & after finding some parking we walked down to the river with Val managing quite well….had a lovely lunch enjoying the view…..no regattas today which this place is so well known for….still beautiful boats motoring up & down……then headed back home to have a G & T which was a little celebration together…..

Rambling around st albans

Moira Schneider

The Last couple of days have been low key…..meandered around St Albans & planning to go into London tomorrow with my niece…..just a few photos of some of the rustic fabrics I’ve found…..little treasures….small rustic wrought iron pieces I found at Baileys Home….a smattering of gorgeous business cards from the Country Brocante….many advertise on the backs of them the next fairs they will be at…..

Wonderful day at the Country Brocante in the Daylesford….

Moira Schneider

Well I never thought the day would come that it would be real that I would be able to go to this particular Brocante. It was the best day despite driving to it in thick fog & a chilly wind that lasted most of the day & even driving back to St Albans the rain came hard & fast ….at one time only able to see a couple of cars ahead…..the tents were huge & so many wonderful artists…collectors of vintage & antiquities…..I’m so glad I purchased the early bird tickets along with the workshop with Lucy Hunter…..we ambled around with our eyes finding it hard to absorb all that we were seeing …….hence we needed to do another & then one last wander around. Then we did the workshop with Lucy Hunter who has written a gorgeous book ‘The Flower Hunter’…..again a bit surreal that having her book but never thinking I would get to meet her. She gave us such a down to earth & practical engaging talk….like she was engaging with us over coffee but we had Prosecco & cake. We came away enthused & ready to put into practice some of what she shared with us……I found quite a few little treasures being mindful that as my Tony reminds me Containers are expensive….maybe one day……there is so much creativeness & many love collecting wonderful old antique furniture along with old China & also old embroidered linen……masses of it was available….it’s all so appealing as you can find pieces to be interspersed amongst your own things at home. Here are a few photos of some of what we experienced. Then the last highlight was meeting Lucy who with her team organise this huge event….

No Jetlag & running…..

As I am short on time & it’s getting late I thought to repost what have uploaded on my Instagram…not flash or professional but a little of what has been a wonderful day & ready for tomorrows adventures……
