Lymington…..

Moira Schneider

Off to Lymington as suggested by my friend as as you drive through the New Forrest…..winding roads with overhanging trees creating tunnels…….no where to stop to take photos but breathtaking One the less…..arrived at this sweet harbour town…..we walked along cobbled streets & then had a pub lunch before heading back…..

My firend in bishops Waltham

Moira Schneider

From Winchester City a short drive into Bishops Waltham where I have a lovely friend who had organised for us to stay in her friends cottage about 5 minutes walk from her…..it is a 1700’s cottage but beautifully renovated inside ….leaving bare brick walls with partial plastering….lots of exposed beams….crooked/sloping floors….small & irregular door sizes…..the blue door is the entrance to the cottage…..you can see as we hit this village the Autumn leaves are fully falling ….the colours are amazing and so distinct….it it a very old village with lots of quaint shops & much history …..I don’t usually post ‘me’ photos but couldn’t help but share the last night together in the pub ‘The Crown’ with these wonderful friends & much fun was had….

Winchester city

Moira Schneider

As we came into Winchester City it was raining quite heavily…..parking was limited & our navigation didn’t take us to the parking we’d planned on….but we ended up being in a parking close to the High Street…,.it was heaving so to speak with Students everywhere….it is a university town but this day was a Graduation Day……so what with rain , students & families everywhere….it was difficult to take photos as you couldn’t step back to get any depth !!?..we couldn’t visit the Cathedral as this was where the graduation was happening…..still lovely views…….

Camden…..

Moira Schneider

After familiarising ourselves with the train system…..5yrs since I’d been on it & things have changed….also fortunate they weren’t on strike last Wednesday !!!! We arrived in Camden to visit a couple of speciality shops & happened upon these little antique shops……along the walk….absolutely delightful……something we don’t see much of now in Perth……then we got to the dearest little store ‘Loop London’…… they specialise in wools many sourced from individual wool growers…spinners & you can still smell the lanolin on many of the different wools…embroidery threads of all kinds ……individually designed buttons…..so lovely to see it for real & not just a website or newsletter……well worth the visit as so inspiring …..after visiting Loop we were told of a beautiful sewing shop call ‘Ray-Stitch’ which was just a 1 minute walk from Loop as the girls in Loop were raving about it……we walked along & definitely not disappointed…..it had an amazing array of beautiful linens…notions….patterns….anything you need to sew with….a sewers heaven.
